Harry Orange Blodgett owned and operated the Blodgett Hardware Store on West Main Street
in Fredonia. Harry (known as H.O.) and Mabel lived at 102 Temple street in Fredonia.
Mabel was from Buffalo, NY.

In his youth he traveled extensively for several years (including out west to Oregon).
After his travels, Harry returned to Fredonia, married and founded his hardware store,
H.O. Blodgett and Son. This store was a familiar fixture in Fredonia for many years,
providing much of what was needed to build and maintain this thriving community
and its surrounding farms and vineyards.

We have wonderful story about H.O. Blodgett and his store, written by one of his grandchildren,

It would be really nice to have many more stories like this about our ancestors.

Harry and Mabel are buried in Forrest Hill Cemetery, Fredonia, NY.

We have several fine photos of Harry, Mabel and their family (thanks to two of his descendants,

Their Children

Harry Orange and Mabel had 8 children, three sons and five daughters. The first two sons,
Arthur and Clifford died young (age 10 and age 2) but the other children all married and
raised families of their own.
