Nathaniel and Sarah Pearce and family

  • Nathaniel Pierce
  • - Born: 1712 - Prudence Island, Washington, RI
  • - Died:
  • - Parents: Preserved and Hannah Pearce
  • - Married: May 22, 1735
  • - Resided: Warwick, Kent RI (to 1740)

  • Sarah Wickes
  • - Born: Mar 18, 1708 - Warwick, Kent, RI
  • - Died:
  • - Parents: Thomas and Ann (Cole) Wickes

Our knowledge of Nathaniel Pearce is also very limited. Like his father, he was born and raised
in Prudence Island, RI. As a young man he must have moved across the Narragansett Bay because
in 1735, at the age of 23, he married Sarah Wickes in Warwick, RI and settled in Warwick with
his new wife. In 1740 they moved to East Greenwich. One year later his son, Joseph (our ancestor)
was born. Events after this point are not known. Whether they accompanied Joseph to Vermont
or stayed in East Greenwich in their later years, is not known.

Sarah Wickes was born and raised in Warwick, RI. Her Father John Wickes Sr was also born in
Warwick. Sarah's mother was born in Oyster Bay, LI, NY. Sometime after Sarah married, her
parents moved back to her mothers old hometown Oyster Bay, along with both their parents
(Sarah's grandparents).

Their Children

Nathaniel and Sarah Pearce had at least one child, Joseph (our ancestor).
Records of other children are not known. But as with the family of Preserved and Hannah,
our information is limited regarding this generation.
